Her smile rises
with the tide's rapid breath
against the shore
for she knows
the sea will claim its own -
tall ships and turrets
spun out of sand
and the pearl twist of moon
caught upon a basslet's back
when conch's dulcet tune
lulls manna from the waves.
And what sirens claim for treasure,
men can only dream of....
Calypso was not a siren...she was a sea nymph. Siren just sounds better to me....
